Nemo Webinar
“Museums in 2020+: The search for meaning”

It has been an honour to join the webinar series of NEMO - Network of European Museum organisations and share part of our research on the impact of Covid-19 and introduce some of the trends of our trend booklet “Museums in 2020+: The search for meaning.” With this webinar, our founder Ece has shared some data and insights about the current challenges of the new unpredictable world in which museums find themselves. With this webinar, Ece in addition has touched upon related design methods to rethink how to tackle especially the new kind of audience, hybrid context and so inform museums’ short-, mid- and long-term actions accordingly. The webinar, we aim to invite museums professionals, whether museum-leaders, curators or volunteers to ask fundamental questions that are not focused on defining an ideological museum of the future or the future of digital technologies per se, but rather reflect on the meaningful future for their museums.

Check the webinar on NEMO’s YouTube channel.

NOVEMBER 2019

Presentation @ICOM Italia conference

We have had the pleasure to share our vision and plus some practical ideas with a short talk during the ICOM conference titled “Il Museo oggi. Le professioni del patrimonio culturale” (“The Museum of Today and Cultural heritage professions”) which held in Rome, last Saturday, on November 16th, during the Extraordinary Assembly of ICOM Italy.

The theme of the future of museum professionals had been to the subject of debate in ICOM lately, together with the new museum definition. In order to give space for a collective moment of debate and exchange of ideas between all members, some thematic groups raging from security to marketing, from preservation to communication were organised.

We have joined the “digital technologies” group, to discuss the skills needed and methods to be adopted in the decision making process related to museums’ digital strategies.

Here is the programme with the full list of the talks.
